Hello folks, I'm tackling my grandfather's side of the family - hailing from Roman Valley area. My great-great-grandfather was William F. MacDonald, b. 1846 – d. 1932. According to Vital Statistics' death certificate, he was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery on 26 May 1932. I've checked FindAGrave.com and BillionGraves, as well as the Guysborough County Cemetery Listings (run by "Patsy") and followed links to the records for St. Patricks' Church Cemetery and the one across the road, as well as the Wine Harbour St. Patrick's cemetery. No joy. I realize the listings for these are incomplete, so perhaps he's there, but just not in the public records as yet. Beyond finding William's grave, I'm beginning to trace his family, including William's wife, Mary Jane Boles (b. 1856 - d. ?). I believe they lived (at some point) in St. Ann's, as that's where their son George Ronald was born (in 1884). Interestingly, they don't appear on any of the early census.
